Seattle – Fall 2018

We love the Northwest in the fall, but we thought mid to late October was pushing it weather-wise.  As it turned out, we caught it just right.

Washington is the Evergreen State, as any drive through mountains and country will tell. West Seattle, though, and especially North Admiral seems to be in active revolt. Come fall, every street and boulevard is a riot of reds and golds.
Seattle at the end of a beautiful autumn day, as seen across Elliot Bay from our apartment in North Admiral.
West Seattle’s Sunday Farmers Market.  Just around the corner from LA Fitness, where we spent a little time each day of our stay. Here we bought winter squash and tart heirloom apples. One Sunday we had lunch; Michele a falafel plate and Gene an egg and sausage sandwich with grilled peppers & onions.
Alki Beach.  Though sunny in North Admiral, we descended into fog as we walked hiked the road down to the beach.  Along the shore we passed volleyball games and bonfires, fine pairings as the sun set beneath chilly fog.
